Purina Company Overview

Beneful is a brand of Nestle Purina and was launched in 2001. The company is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. All Beneful Dog Food products are produced within the United States at a number of locations all over the country. Beneful Dog Food is the best-selling pet food brand of the parent company.

Beneful Dog Food has not shared any information about where they source ingredients from but state that all materials meet the standards set but federal or state regulations. Unfortunately, however, for Beneful Dog Food, the customer ratings have not been great, and the brand is ranked at a mere 2-stars. Some customers have also complained that the food has made their pets sick.

In March 2016, Beneful Dog Food had to recall its Beneful Prepared Meals, 10 oz. tubs (all varieties) and Beneful Chopped Blends, 10 oz. tubs (all varieties). The reason given for the recall was that the foods contained inadequate vitamins and minerals.

In 2015, a lawsuit was filed against Beneful Dog Food and parent company Nestle Purina. The case against the company was that the dog foods contained harmful ingredients that could make pets sick or even cause death. Despite all the complaints and the lawsuit, Nestle Purina has maintained that their products are safe for pet consumption.
